'All Things Surface' Workshop with Diana Fayt

Come join Diana Fayt for an afternoon making richly surfaced clay tiles. During the workshop, you will learn how to use underglazes to achieve different effects, which will include printing, painting, stamping and inlaying drawings onto the clay surface. You will come away from the workshop having learned new techniques, basic ceramic terminology, and your very own tile. This is a fun, no pressure workshop. All levels welcome!
A $10. material & firing fee will be collected during the workshop.
All tools, materials and one bisque firing will be provided.
Because of the preparation needed in advance for this workshop no refunds will be given for student cancelations.
About Diana:
Diana Fayt is a modern-day scrimshaw artist, whose chosen medium is clay rather than whalebone. Diana’s work can be found in myriad of public and private art collections both in the United States and abroad and has taught her skills internationally including, Arrowmont School of Crafts, Santa Fe Clay, Clay Gulgong, Australia and Metchosin School of Crafts, BC as well as developing her own online ceramic e-courses, The Clayer. Her roster of clients includes Heath Ceramics, Anthropologie and Terrain. A graduate of the California College of the Arts, Diana currently lives and works in Portland, Oregon.
